Pulverized Coal fired Power Station with 66 MWel / 50 Hz and 10.5 kV output
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT
The main components of the power plant which will have a footprint of approximately 2 ha include
the following:
(1) Boiler house and turbine hall for one 66 MW unit
(2) Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP)
(3) Flue gas desulphurization plant incl. electrostatic precipitators
(4) Coal Handling In-plant coal stock yard and storage– coal is to be conveyed via underground
conveyor from the railrod unloading area

Characteristics of the power plant:
Fuel: The power station originally was designed to fire local lignite of low quality from a local mine. Due to the uneconomic coal production the unit was converted in 1997 to burn import coal by modifying the firing system. The plant can be easily converted back to lignite firing during relocation.

1.3 Environmental technology of the power plant:
The plant fulfils all the actual environmental requirements according to IPPC and includes:
Primary denitrification
Dedusting by 2 ESPs (3) and in FGD unit with a bag house filter (8)
Desulfurization by a semi-dry spray absorber in combination with a bag house filterScrubbing unit

2.1 Boiler / Boiler House
(Conversion to hard coal firing 1997)
Two pass natural circulation boiler with refractory walls (lightweight construction). The boiler is equipped
with a pulverized coal combustion system and a forced draught fan, two Ljungström-air preheater and an
induced draught fan. The original combustion system, designed for lignite, was converted to hard coal in
1997. Heavy fuel oil is used for ignition and back up.
Steam generation: 210 t/h
Design pressure: 110 bar
Live steam pressure: 90 bar
Live steam temperature: 530 °C
The original drawings are still available, the reconversion to lignite firing is without problems during the
relocation possible.
